# Public venue stream stale

1. Confirm the watchlist footer names the affected venue and shows `WS STALE`, `WS RECONNECTING` or `WS DEGRADED`; verified REST snapshots may remain live.
2. Do not treat the last rendered frame as fresh. New order review must continue to fetch current server-side market/account state and pass AEGIS freshness policy.
3. Allow the shared supervisor to close the transport, wait for its bounded jitter/connection budget, open one replacement socket and replay the active subscription set.
4. Verify the footer returns to `1 SOCKET`, the chart returns to `WS LIVE`, and current marks/candles/trades advance. A second socket for the same venue is a regression.
5. If `CONNECTION_BUDGET` persists, stop manual refresh/reload loops and wait for the rolling minute to clear. Hyperliquid disconnects can occur periodically without announcement.
6. If recovery fails, keep execution disabled, retain REST-only visibility as degraded, inspect browser/network egress and venue status, and record the typed reason. Never change the official fixed WebSocket origin or increase ceilings during an incident.
