# Unknown order outcome

1. Do not retry the submit request.
2. Put the intent in `unknown`; block edits and duplicate intents with the same ID.
3. Query order status/open orders by `cloid`; inspect order updates and fills.
4. If found, adopt the exchange state and resume normal reconciliation.
5. If absent after the defined reconciliation window, allow an operator to create a new intent with a new `cloid`; never reuse the original.
6. Escalate repeated ambiguity, capture latency/rate-limit/server response evidence and consider close-only mode.
